Become a Volunteer

MABA sets out to accomplish 5 main goals:

  1. Promote Buddhism in the U.S., specifically the Midwest
  2. Serve the community with spiritual and social activities
  3. Provide educational programs in the study of Buddhism
  4. Offer a peaceful environment for practicing meditation
  5. Support the Sangha in its commitment to the Dharma

In order to continue providing an environment for spiritual growth and practice, we need your ongoing support.

Volunteer Experience

Hello there, My name is Meressa and I am planning a biking trip on the Katy Trail. I am an artist and I would love to make my journey a creative one and offer my art to towns along the trail. I will be arriving in Clinton on June 9th, getting ready to hit the trail. My goal is to make it a bike adventure/art project and document the experience. I am wondering if you have any signs, walls, doors, benches or anything else that could use a little love and color at your facility? If so I would absolutely love to help out with that.

Thank you for your time,

Meressa

GROCERY DONATION (食品類)

“Giving food, one gives strength. Giving clothes, one gives protection. The one who gives residence is the giver of all, but the one who teaches the Dharma is the giver of the deathless.”
-Samyutta Nikaya

MEAL PREPARATION

Every Sunday morning, MABA hosts a service which ends with a group potluck. Every attendee is asked to bring a vegan dish.

COOK / CLEAN

MABA welcomes volunteers to help prepare for the Sunday potluck including cooking/heating up certain dishes, setting out dishes, etc. After the potluck, MABA welcomes volunteers to assist in cleaning up, washing/drying dishes, sanitizing tables and tidying.

Yard Work

 PROPERTY UPKEEP

MABA could always use extra help with maintenance around the large property. It can be a very calming charitable experience, one that would certainly be greatly appreciated.

  • Lawn care
  • Plant flowers/trees
