Becoming a volunteer

MABA sets out to accomplish 5 main goals:

Promote Buddhism in the U.S., specifically the Midwest

Serve the community with spiritual and social activities

Provide educational programs in the study of Buddhism

Offer a peaceful environment for practicing meditation

Support the Sangha in its commitment to the Dharma

In order to continue providing an environment for spiritual growth and practice, we need your ongoing support.

We want you to be part of our team! If you'd like to make a difference, please reach out to us about some exciting upcoming opportunities to volunteer. We’re gearing up for gardening, grounds cleanup, and Vesak Day preparations on May 17th, and we need enthusiastic volunteers like you! There are many ways to get involved, from setting up tents and parking signs to assisting in the kitchen. Join us for a rewarding experience where you'll meet new people and impact our community!

      Volunteer Experience

Hello there, My name is Meressa and I am planning a biking trip on the Katy Trail. I am an artist and I would love to make my journey a creative one and offer my art to towns along the trail. I will be arriving in Clinton on June 9th, getting ready to hit the trail. My goal is to make it a bike adventure/art project and document the experience. I am wondering if you have any signs, walls, doors, benches or anything else that could use a little love and color at your facility? If so I would absolutely love to help out with that.

      Thank you for your time,

      Meressa

      GROCERY DONATION (食品類)

      -Samyutta Nikaya

      MEAL PREPARATION

Every Sunday morning, MABA hosts a service that ends with a vegetarian lunch. A volunteer worker helps prepare the food, and you are welcome to bring a vegetarian dish to ease the cooking task.

      COOK / CLEAN

MABA welcomes volunteers to help prepare for the Sunday lunch including cooking/heating up certain dishes, setting out dishes, etc. After the meal, MABA welcomes volunteers to assist in cleaning up, washing/drying dishes, sanitizing tables, and tidying.

       PROPERTY UPKEEP

MABA could always use extra help with maintenance around the large property. It can be a very calming charitable experience, one that would certainly be greatly appreciated.
