MABA is located in Augusta, Missouri, off Highway 94 and Schindler Road.
Directions from St. Louis & points East (including Chicago & Memphis):
Cross the Missouri River via 40 (or I-70), then take 94 west. South of Weldon Springs, the road is winding & hilly, so please drive carefully, especially after dark. After passing through Defiance, keep your eyes open for the 3 smoke stacks (blinking red at night) of the power plant. When you see them, Augusta is just a couple of miles further. About 1/2 mile before Augusta, you'll come down from a ridge as the road curves to the right. This brings you into the little valley where Heger Lane & MABA are located.
Continue on 94 up the other side of the little valley past the Ambulance Station (on right) and Christ Lutheran (on left). Schindler Road is on your right as you come down the hill just after the church and graveyard. Schindler Road is a dirt and gravel road marked by a small street sign. MABA is about 1 mile down the road. This turn is marked by a wooden sign on your right. MABA's driveway is gravel and slopes steeply downhill. If you miss this turn, you will find yourself at the end of Schindler Road.
Directions from Washington, MO & points South (including
Ozarks):
MABA is about 8 miles north & across the river from Washington, which is on the south bank of the Missouri River. From Washington, take 47 north & across the river to Dutzow. At Dutzow, turn right onto 94 East & follow it to Augusta.
Past the first turn off (which will be on the right by the fields of young grape vines) into Augusta, the road goes uphill. At the top of the ridge is Schindler Road, a dirt and gravel road on the left marked by a small street sign. If you miss this turn, you'll soon come to the Christ Lutheran Church on your right. Please turn around.
MABA is about 1 mile down Schindler Road on the right. The driveway is marked by a wooden sign on your right. MABA's driveway is gravel and slopes steeply down. If you miss this turn, you will find yourself at the end of Schindler Road.
Directions from Columbia, MO, Kansas City, & points West:
Take I-70 east to Warrenton (exit) and then 47 south towards Washington. At Dutzow, just before crossing the river, turn left (east) on 94 East and follow it to Augusta. (Follow the directions above from Washington for the rest of the way.)
You can also take 94 east from Jefferson City. Slower but beautiful!
